Unveiling Darkest Knight Full Album on All Major Platforms

Kota Kinabalu, November 24, 2023 – Sabahan artist Velvet Aduk is set to release her highly anticipated 14-track album "Darkest Knight" on all major distribution platforms this coming 30th of November 2023. This marks her full-fledged English album debut, showcasing her remarkable talent and creativity in producing and planning her own musical project.

"I wanted to create music that deeply resonates with me, something that feeds my soul. I hope that my music can be a source of light and hope to people out there," Velvet Aduk said.

To celebrate the upcoming launch, Velvet Aduk hosted an exclusive listening party at Kupi Kupi FM on the 24th of November. The event was attended by friends and media, who got a sneak peek into the emotional and powerful tracks that Velvet Aduk has poured her heart and soul into.

Velvet Aduk collaborated with co-producers Andy O'Mail and Brandon Laurie, who helped her craft the album. The album is supported by Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital via the MyCreative Ventures Group, who supported the album through the Dana Kandungan Digital (DKD) Kebolehpasaran program.

After nearly 17 years in the music industry, Velvet Aduk decided to release an English album. For this 36-year-old mother of four, the saying "it's never too late to start" never gets old. Born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, the new single Darkest Knight provides Velvet's fans with a new listening experience. This track is catchy and enjoyable to listen to because of the classic pop and funk sounds.

Darkest Knight will also be the title of the album, for your information. The album is scheduled to be released in November 2023. 'What Are You Doing With Someone Else's Husband? and If I'm Not Good Enough For You', according to Velvet, have been available since last July and August respectively. Velvet's only wish for this album is that listeners will enjoy the lyrical journey and the music that she produced.

WAR CRY - A Melodic Journey Celebrating Malaysian Borneo's Heritage

A new song and music video called "War Cry" is set to release on Malaysia Day, to celebrate the rich natural and cultural heritage of Malaysian Borneo - Sabah and Sarawak. The song, written and performed by local Malaysian artists - Marsha Milan, Velvet Aduk, and Alena Murang, draws inspiration from the traditional chants and sounds of the indigenous peoples of Sabah and Sarawak and encourages people to take pride in their heritage through music and visual storytelling.

"War Cry" is not a literal war cry, but rather a metaphorical call to action for unity and pride. The lyrics speak of the strength and resilience of the indigenous peoples, their love for their homeland, and their commitment to preserving their natural and cultural heritage. The music video, which features stunning visuals and elements of the natural beauty of Malaysian Borneo and its traditions, further captures the spirit of the song.

VELVET ADUK UNVEILS LATEST ENGLISH SINGLE

Kota Kinabalu, 1st July 2023 - Malaysian-Sabahan singer-songwriter Velvet Aduk is delighted to announce the release of her latest English single. Titled "What Are You Doing With Someone Else's Husband?", the soulful and captivating track made its debut on 30th June 2023, much to the excitement of Velvet's fans.

She expressed her anticipation for the release, Velvet said, "This song is dedicated to all those who have experienced pain or are currently going through difficult times."

While Velvet is known for her releases in the Sabahan dialect or Malay language, she has defied expectations by venturing into the realm of English music. "What Are You Doing With Someone Else's Husband?" is not going to be her only English song this year. This song serves as a precursor to her upcoming album, which will feature a total of fourteen (14) songs. The album is scheduled for release in September 2023.

Velvet's passion for music shines through in her songwriting process, as she explains, "I write to please my soul, and making music is something I love doing." In 2021, amidst the pandemic, Velvet independently released an English song titled "Plain White-T," which she described as "just for fun," without any expectations attached. This approach extends to her latest release, as she embraces the freedom of creativity.

The success of Velvet's previous English songs, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and "Christmas Is Coming," released in 2022 and 2019 respectively, surprised Velvet as they gained significant support from listeners worldwide, transcending borders beyond Malaysia. She attributes this success to the accessibility of online distribution platforms, stating that it has made it easier for independent artists, like her, to promote their music. Platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube have revolutionized the music industry, leveling the playing field for musicians of all backgrounds.

Getting back to her upcoming album, Velvet expresses her dedication to completing her first full-blown English album and looks forward to its release. The digital release of the album is scheduled for September this year, accompanied by a listening party and a showcase event. Velvet shares her excitement and nervousness, stating, "I have never been so thrilled to release this piece of art to the public. EMBUN BAWA KU PERGI

Velvet Aduk's first single in 2023, Embun Bawa Ku Pergi, released on 27 Jan 2023. The song is written in Malay and is peaceful and easy listening. "Embun," which translates to "dew," is a metaphor used to express one's feelings - a repeating cycle and never-ending longing to flee from a love-hate relationship.
